JULY EDITION - NEWSLETTER
The past few weeks right before the summer were busy for One Modern World, and we are excited to share with you what all we've been up to and what more is to come! One Modern World was featured in several media and we are thrilled to be able to raise awareness about the one issue so close to our hearts - the problem of single use plastics and the solutions we provide.
WHAT'S NEW WITH ONE MODERN WORLD?
We released an awareness video where we involved our community and we all said NO to Plastic and encouraged people to join our #ecofriendlysip movement. Check it out here, and subscribe to our channel to watch more of our upcoming videos!
We are proud to announce that One Modern World is now a member of the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and we invite you to join the webinar on the 26th of July where Meghna will be a panelist and discuss sustainable packaging. Join the talk and register here.
We've also joined the Spanish Business Council and are looking forward to mingle at our first membership breakfast in July.
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN JULY?
This month is particularly special to us as it is Plastic Free July, a global challenge for everyone, business & individuals to join together, implement changes and take steps towards a more sustainable tomorrow. The deadline set by Dubai Sustainable Tourism for the hospitality industry to implement new guidelines was July 1st - and that meant that a lot of businesses have had to up their game in regards to their sustainability vision including replacing single use plastic.
Since the pandemic started, there is an alarming increase in usage of plastic. Our founder Meghna discussed this very topic with Helen Farmer on the Dubai Eye radio show in June. Click here to listen to the conversation.
